German brand Walter Knoll will present a sofa designed by Austrian studio EOOS during this year's Milan design week, featuring integrated trays and side tables.
The Tama Living sofa, which debuted at IMM Cologne, was designed by EOOS to be reminiscent of a "piece of classical music".
"Tama Living is the setting for the special moment of coming home," said Walter Knoll. "A clear picture of symmetry, lines and surface, giving the sofa the opportunity to reveal its rhythm: gaps in the backrest make the sheer volume seem less."
The sofa features upholstered elements in leather or fabric, which sit upon a solid wood base. There are also side tables made from saddle leather, which nestle up against its side.
A tray made of solid wood and saddle leather can also slot in between the upholstered sections of the sofa.
"The tray opens up the space in the sofa," said the brand.
"The cup of tea is easy to reach and there is plenty of space here both for a book and a tablet. The tray unfurls its subtle elegance in the interaction of materials, of characterful saddle leather and natural solid wood."
Walter Knoll often works with renowned architects and designers to create furniture collections.
Last year, the brand worked with London-based architecture firm Foster + Partners to create an upholstered dining chair entitled Foster 525, as well as the upholstered bench Foster 512.
The Tama Living sofa will be on show at Walter Knoll's booth (Hall 7, Stand A27/A31) at the Salone del Mobile furniture fair, which takes place as part of Milan design week from 4 to 9 April.
