3Novices:Competition: win a Flute pencil tray by Tino Seubert

The latest Dezeen competition offers readers the chance to win one of three colourful desk tidies by German product designer Tino Seubert.

Seubert's Flute pencil trays are hand cast from pigmented Jesmonite – a composite material that combines plaster and cement with water-based resin.

They come in bubble gum pink, martian red and pale blue. There is also a yellow version, but this is only available through retail website Neim.

The trays each feature three concave indents, which provide the spaces for pens and pencils.

These forms are taken directly from Seubert's Monolithic Font, a two-tiered basin that Seubert designed for the 2018 edition of the Wallpaper Handmade exhibition in Milan.

The designer has also applied the design to a pestle and mortar as part of the Flute range.

"The trays result from a continuous play with negative tubular forms carved out of stone, plaster and other materials, which I have applied to different objects ranging from table objects to fountains," said Seubert.

Seubert studied in France and Italy before moving to London, where he is now based. Clients he has worked for include the Carl Freedman Gallery, Red Bull and Kurt Geiger.

Recent projects include a collection of furniture that combines anodised aluminium and hand-woven wicker, for the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield.

Three readers will each win a Flute pencil tray, worth £85 each, in a colour of their choice. They are also available to buy via Seubert's website.

Competition closes 29 October 2018. Three winners will be selected at random and notified by email, and his or her names will be published at the top of this page.
