Dezeen promotion: open-house hotelier The Hoxton has reopened the shared workspace inside its Southwark-based hotel in London.
Located on London's South Bank, Working From_Southwark occupies floors seven to 12 of The Hoxton, Southwark, which opened in September 2019.
The co-working space, which initially opened to the public on 3 February 2020, was temporarily closed soon after due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Recently reopened to the public, it is designed to cater to a variety of clients, from freelance creatives in need of a "modern" and flexible working environment to business-owners looking for less traditional, long-term leases.
Ennismore, owner of The Hoxton, called on its in-house design team to create "homely spaces" that would accompany the "stress-free policies" of Working From_Southwark.
Covering a total of 3,900 square metres, each of the six co-working levels boast floor-to-ceiling windows to give plenty of natural light and views of the city.
The hotel offers 764 desks spread across three different types of workspaces. This includes Private Studio spaces for teams and larger companies and Open Studio scenarios, which are fixed desks within a studio, as well as general hot-desking areas.
All desks have wireless charging and members have access to 20 communal phone booths, five meeting rooms and several break areas located on each floor.
The spaces have a range of seating options, from more traditional library desks and ergonomic chairs to more laid-back armchairs and daybeds.
Special rates on bedroom and restaurant bookings are offered to members, which applies to all nine Hoxton hotels globally.
Members can also use The Hoxton, Southwark hotel rooms during the day to work, and have access to a "deadline hotline" where members can book available hotel rooms to work in for the night at a discounted rate.
The work spaces include a cafe and bar offering healthy "brain-food" created by nutritionist Sarah Ann Macklin, with direct-to-desk meal delivery on offer for workers racing to a deadline.
Members can also make use of a complimentary stationary cupboard and unlimited printing as well as IT support.
The Hoxton aims to accommodate all types of workers with its range of membership tiers. These include day passes or Side Hustler memberships for people who require a workspace after their day-job, from 5:30pm onwards during the week or all day at the weekend.
There is also the option to desk surf, or to have a permanent desk in a pod of six or eight people. Private studios are also available for teams of six, 10 or 24.
The Hoxton, Southwark is the hotel chain's newest venue in London, joining its Holborn and Shoreditch locations.
