Dezeen Watch Store: the minimal Hagen timepiece by popular Danish brand Skagen is now available in three new colour combinations.
A timepiece with a navy blue dial is among Skagen's additions to its Hagen collection of watches, named after an iteration of the Danish word for harbour.
The brown/blue Hagen has a silver 40-millimetre case and tan leather strap, and has been updated with a seconds hand and date window.
The other two watches share the same sub-second timer as the classic Hagen, which is also available to buy from Dezeen Watch Store.
One features a contemporary rose gold case, grey dial and dark brown leather strap, while the other has a silver case, clean white dial and black leather strap.
The Hagen is defined by its minimal aesthetic, with a body composed of only two parts – the top ring and the case. The simplicity of its construction is apparent from its streamlined side profile, which was designed to resemble a horizon.
"What we wanted to do with Hagen is create a new, modern and sophisticated watch style that speaks to the true modernity of the Skagen brand," creative director Thomas Bennedsen explained in a statement.
"We wanted to create a watch that would look great in a big city environment yet easily translate to one that's relaxed," he said.
Skagen is named after Denmark's northernmost port town, and Hagen – which is connected to a Danish work for harbour as it appears in the name of the city of Copenhagen – is a continuation of this theme.
Other Scandinavian timepieces available at Dezeen Watch Store include the Bikupa by Swedish designer Alexander Lervik and the minimal Seconds watch by Nocs Atelier.
