Dezeen Watch Store: the Essential watch by Hong Kong brand Greyhours is a "sober" timepiece designed to be worn every day.
The Essential collection is composed of a single unisex model, which is now available in white for the first time at Dezeen Watch Store.
Described by the brand as a "sober watch, with no pretension", the simplicity of itsdesign reflects Greyhours' philosophy that a watch should be functional and durable enough to wear every day.
"We created a well-balanced watch that has a very minimal and timeless design, but still added a touch of colour as to remove one from boredom," Greyhours co-founder Emrah Yuceer told Dezeen. "That's where the blue or the red hands come into play."
"It was also very important to build something that's durable," he continued. "We needed this watch to resist day-to-day wear as a reminder that some things can last."
Created by industrial designer Julien Gueuning, the Essential model features a simple leather strap and clean stainless-steel face displaying seconds, minutes, hours, day and date.
It comes with an Italian calf leather strap and includes an Isaswiss Quartz movement.
The white model is brand new to Dezeen Watch Store, while the popular black model is now back in stock.
Young entrepreneurs Emrah Vuceer, Olivier Kraff and Thao Phan first launched Greyhours in 2014, with the aim to oversee the entire watchmaking process, from initial design to sale.
Other new arrivals to DWS include VOID's first timepiece for women and the No.1 by TID with a steel case.
