
Researchers at Dartmouth are investigating on a new phenomenon called Cherenkov radiation to see whether it can be used as a tool for measuring the radiation dose delivered to different tissues during radiotherapy. Cherenkov radiation is emitted when electrons are fired through water at a speed faster than the speed with which light travels in water.
